Frank confirmed Brennan Johnson, for whom a fee has reportedly been agreed with Crystal Palace for him, has "trained well" and is expected to be "fully available to play" on Thursday.

Asked about the news stories, the Tottenham boss responded: "This is the third time I think I get that question, so there's rumours out there. In general, I will not comment on that. No matter if you want to sign or sell a player or get a staff member in or out, I have no interest in commenting either way."

He added: "Brennan is a very important player for us. Sometimes things change if another player comes in. Unfortunately, [Mohammed] Kudus came in for him and played on the right side. So it's been a little bit more tricky to get enough starts. Brennan has been a top professional."

On other team news, Frank also confirmed Lucas Bergvall is a "small doubt" but "quite possibly" available, while captain Cristian Romero will return from suspension. Any further punishment for the Spurs captain from the FA will be decided in January.

He reflected that 11 wins from 37 league matches in 2025 is "not the greatest record" and a "club of Tottenham's stature need to win more". However, he can only assess what he has been in charge of as he has been brought in for a "longer journey" and there is "no quick fix" to Spurs' situation.

On if he has given the club a shopping list for the January transfer window: "I can't highlight enough we are in the market, we're prepared [and] we're working. But I also think it's super important that every decision I take, or together with the other guys in terms of decision-making, is for the future of the club. There's no reason to sign a player if you don't think it's for the future of the club."

On his first return to the Gtech Stadium since he left to join Spurs in the summer, Frank said it is a match that "cannot be business as usual" and is "special": "I'm actually happy that I have those emotions because that means it meant something to me. The nine years I spent at Brentford, the fans, and especially the people that I work closely with, have a special place in my heart."

However, there is no room for sentiment on the night: "There's one job to do. I'm head coach for this fantastic club. I'm working night and day to do everything I can to improve the team and the club, and there's one aim - I want to win the football match. And then it's special to come back."
