Thomas Frank now has two weeks to reassess his plans for his Tottenham Hotspur squad following their defeat to Bournemouth.

Tottenham Hotspur slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Andoni Iraola’s team in what was a rather concerning display from the Lilywhites.

The North London club managed just five attempts at goal all afternoon, meanwhile, the Cherries dominated proceedings with 19 efforts at Guglielmo Vicario’s net.

Thomas Frank will now need to return to the drawing board, and there is one player with whom he is facing a big decision following his struggles against Bournemouth.

Thomas Frank should consider changing Brennan Johnson’s position

Frank should consider changing Brennan Johnson’s role in the team, having already shifted him elsewhere to accommodate Mohammed Kudus.

The 24-year-old has started the first three Premier League matches of the season in the left-wing role, having predominantly featured on the right since joining Spurs.

Against Bournemouth, Johnson was pretty poor and received a fair amount of criticism for his display in the defeat.

Tottenham fans are now eager for the club to accelerate their plans to sign a new left winger in the final hours of the transfer window.

But can Frank really afford to completely drop a player who finished as the team’s top scorer last season with 18 goals in all competitions?

Instead of dropping Johnson from the team, Frank should consider moving him into a more central role where his attributes could suit leading the line for Spurs.

The former Nottingham Forest star has shown himself to be excellent at timing his runs in front of goal, superb at finishing and strong at pressing.

Frank admitted Tottenham won’t sign another striker, which could be a risk given that Dominic Solanke and Richarlison both have poor injury records.

Given Johnson’s struggles out wide, perhaps shifting him into a role where there is less pressure to beat his man could greatly benefit him and the squad.

Tottenham must focus on Savinho, Ademola Lookman or Morgan Rogers

Savinho, Ademola Lookman or Morgan Rogers are among the list of names that Tottenham are looking at in the final few hours of the window.

TBR Football understands that Tottenham still believe they can sign Savinho, but are keeping their options open with time running out.

Lookman offered himself to Tottenham, and the Nigerian winger could suddenly become an option for Spurs in the latter stages of the transfer deadline.
