Thomas Frank’s honeymoon period at Tottenham Hotspur is coming to an end, and several of their top players are now facing quite a lot of stick.

Three of Spurs’ last four matches have ended in draws and seen the North London club’s supporters start to question Thomas Frank’s methods.

Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to draw with Bodo/Glimt, Wolves and Brighton, with the team’s performances also proving to be a real worry.

Following the poor run of results, Darren Ambrose has highlighted one key player who has started to become unreliable for the Lilywhites.

Darren Ambrose thinks teams are targeting Guglielmo Vicario at Tottenham

Darren Ambrose worries that teams are starting to target Guglielmo Vicario, as his weaknesses have already been ‘found out’.

Vicario’s weakness at set-pieces became apparent last season, and teams are continuing to notice how he is still struggling to deal with them.

The former Premier League midfielder has warned Frank that he will need to consider taking the Italian international out of the team.

Ambrose told TalkSPORT: “Obviously I didn’t play in defence, but I know, I’ve been in changing rooms, I know what gets spoken about.

“He’s been found out in terms of his crossing, his dictating abilities, in terms of the set plays. I was a set play taker when I played, and I know my management team would have said, ‘Put it right on him. ‘”

TBR Football understands that Tottenham officials were concerned about Vicario heading into the new season, and those fears are starting to be realised.

Last summer, AC Milan wanted Vicario, and perhaps the Italian giants could return for him should Mike Maignan leave as expected.

Antonin Kinsky deserves chance to replace Guglielmo Vicario at Tottenham

Antonin Kinsky now deserves a chance to replace Vicario, with Frank needing a goalkeeper who is going to be better on the ball.

Vicario’s kicking has become a big issue for Spurs, as it has often seen the team come under big pressure when he misplaces passes.

Kinsky has proved he is great on the ball and would certainly be an upgrade on the 28-year-old in that sense.
