The Addicks have a 100% winning start to the campaign, three wins out of three - Cheltenham in the first round of this competition followed by Derby and an impressive win against West Ham at London Stadium on Saturday.
It's our first meeting with Charlton since a 3-0 win in the FA Cup third round at the Lane back in 2011 - here's a look at three players to have caught the eye so far this season...
Tyreece Campbell
The Jamaica international winger has scored in all three of Charlton's wins so far this season. Always looking to take on his man, Campbell can provide a moment of magic to open teams up and, at the same time, his pace provides a platform for Charlton's counter-attacks. As Richard Cawley of South London Sport told us: "It really has clicked for the pacy winger this season. He has scored in all three matches and really made it uncomfortable for Kyle Walker-Peters at the weekend."
Lloyd Jones
Charlton's Player of the Season last term, defensive rock and leader, Jones showed another side to his game with a spectacular overhead kick in the Addicks' win at West Ham on Saturday. Powerful in the air - he won the most aerial duels among Championship centre-backs last season. Again, from Richard Cawley: "Lloyd Jones will be a threat from set-pieces. The centre-back has scored in the previous two games - including that overhead finish at West Ham - not your standard goal from a big defender!"
Karlan Grant
A graduate of Charlton's Academy, striker Grant scored 21 goals in 98 appearances 2014-2019 before moving to Huddersfield, where he scored four goals in the Premier League before hitting 19 in 43 in the Championship in 2019/20 following the Terriers' relegation, prompting a move to West Brom. The former England youth international registered 35 goals in 174 appearances in six years at The Hawthorns before moving back to Charlton this summer. Now 28, he will provide the experience and nous in an attack that scored 44 goals in 46 league games last season - they've doubled that output so far this time around.
