Will Lankshear has been linked with an exit from Tottenham Hotspur this summer

Tottenham have agreed a fee with Middlesbrough over the sale of Will Lankshear, football.london understands.

It was reported on Monday that the Championship side were in advanced talks with Spurs to sign the striker, who impressed on loan at Oxford United last season, where he scored 11 goals in 44 appearances.

It's now understood that Tottenham have agreed a fee with Boro worth a guaranteed £10million for the 21-year-old. The deal could potentially rise to £20million with add-ons. A 20 per cent sell-on clause will be included in the deal, plus matching rights for Spurs for any future bids.

Personal terms between Lankshear and Middlesbrough are progressing well, it is understood, and a medical is expected to take place on Tuesday afternoon or evening.

It's understood the young striker will not leave the club unless he's certain of game time to develop. football.london reported last week that Sporting CP, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton all made approaches for Lankshear, but those were rebuffed by Spurs.

Teeside Live, sister-site of football.london, state that Middlesbrough have monitored Lankshear for several years, and Kim Hellberg tried to bring him to Riverside Stadium in January.

The young forward joined Tottenham from Southampton, but was part of Arsenal's academy before that. He has made six competitive appearances for the Lilywhites, with his first professional goal coming in the Europa League clash against Galatasaray back in November 2024.

The news of the agreement between Tottenham and Middlesbrough comes just days before Tottenham are scheduled to fly out to New Zealand and Australia for the club's pre-season tour. Spurs will play a behind-closed-doors friendly against MK Dons on Wednesday before jetting off the following day.
