Tottenham are preparing to make radical changes to their current structure as the club begins a new era under Fabio Paratici.

Spurs confirmed the return of Paratici as sporting director on Wednesday, as he will resume his role following a 30-month ban imposed by FIFA for financial irregularities.

The Italian began his two-and-a-half-year ban in 2023 after he was charged for financial misconduct for his spell at Juventus – he will now begin a new chapter in North London.

CEO Vinai Venkatesham pushed to bring Paratici back to the club, and now it appears his presence will usher in a long-awaited change.

Tottenham are set to make changes to their wage structure

The Telegraph reported on what ENIC’s £100 million investment into Spurs will mean for the club as the ownership plans to match the ambition of the supporters.

Journalist Matt Law writes: “Those close to the Lewis family insist that how Tottenham spend their money will be just as important as how much the club splash out on transfers. Indeed, there have been indications there could be a shift in policy over the strict wage bill that held the club back under Levy.”

Daniel Levy’s departure from Tottenham after 25 years in North London came as a shock to the supporters, but the Lewis family are believed to have welcomed the change.

Following the Europa League triumph in May, which ended Tottenham’s 17-year wait for silverware, there has been a dramatic shift in how the owners view the club’s long-term future.

Thomas Frank has performed a phenomenal job since succeeding Ange Postecoglou this summer as his side sit only two points adrift of league leaders Arsenal after the international break.

The recent nine-figure injection into the club’s coffers is expected to kickstart continued investment, aiming to challenge for more silverware under the new regime.

Fabio Paratici has a proven track record at Tottenham

During the Italian’s initial spell with the Lilywhites, he acquired a host of top-level talent, which is now the cornerstone of Frank’s side.

Although Spurs are coming off the back of their worst Premier League finish since the 1993/94 campaign, the players have started to show their true potential throughout the opening weeks of the season.

And this is largely down to several players signed by Paratici who have established themselves as key players at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The supporters will undoubtedly be excited that the club is in safe hands.
