Tottenham Hotspur were given a harsh reality check yesterday as they were beaten 3-0 by Brentford in their Premier League season opener.
There was an expectation that the Lilywhites would immediately make a big impact this season after spending £230m on six new signings in the summer transfer window.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side disappointed across the pitch, but they looked particularly toothless in attack as the likes of Richarlison, Mathys Tel and Mikey Moore struggled.
And Alasdair Gold says Moore’s loan deal to join Koln could be confirmed this week based on incomings.
Mikey Moore set to leave Tottenham this week
Moore has a deal in place to join the Bundesliga side, but Tottenham haven’t signed off on it yet as they wait for Savinho’s transfer to be confirmed.
The Lilywhites are also in talks to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City, and his arrival could further push Moore closer to the exit door.
Gold believes the young Englishman will get his loan move this weekend despite starting Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat vs Brentford.
An excerpt from his Football London column reads: “Mikey Moore will likely head out on loan to Koln in the coming days, Mateus Fernandes showed why he won’t be left out of the starting line-up again, Pedro Porro will return at right-back as will Micky van de Ven in the centre.”
This isn’t surprising in the slightest as it was the plan all along. Once Tottenham confirm deals for Savinho and Marmoush, Moore’s loan deal to Germany is expected to be announced.
