The start of the season hasn't come easy for Tottenham Hotspur, after a summer that saw them spend massively in the transfer market to overhaul their squad that finished in 17th place in the Premier League table for the second consecutive season. In their opening three Premier League matches, Tottenham have failed to even register a goal, let alone three points, sitting in joint 17th place with a single point to their name.
It appears that their luck has only gotten worse, as one of their brighter attacking prospects will be out for some time.
Mudryk to miss time
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Mykhailo Mudryk will be out for some time due to an injury.
The Ukrainian made his move to North London from Chelsea on deadline day as part of a loan move between the cross-town rivals. It became clear that Mudryk wasn't going to get his chance to rebound at Stamford Bridge after his lengthy but overturned suspension.
In his lone appearance with the Lilywhites this season, which came over the weekend, the Ukrainian failed to record any significant metric across his 17 minutes on the pitch.
The six-to-eight-week timetable that Romano reports would see Mudryk make his return in mid-November, which would allow plenty of playing time over the course of the season for the Tottenham board to see if he's worth the £75 million that they could pay as part of the loan deal.
The ban from football aside, Mudryk has struggled to really get things going since making his move from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2023, only recording 16 goal involvements across three seasons with Chelsea.
Tottenham will certainly miss the Ukrainian's talents, but they do have a few other options to run on the wing, including Savio, Mathys Tel, and Mohammed Kudus, amongst others.
The Lilywhites' first match with Mudryk on the injury list will come on Saturday afternoon, with a match against Everton in North London.
