TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur actually think Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha could be a perfect fit for Thomas Frank’s team.
Tottenham Hotspur have been assessing midfield options as they look to add a new number six to Frank’s squad this summer.
The Portuguese international is one of the players Spurs believe would be a good fit for them, and Bayern Munich are open to selling him.
The 30-year-old had a tricky debut campaign at the Allianz Arena, and he could now depart in search of regular minutes elsewhere ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Exclusive: Bayern Munich want £30 million for Joao Palhinha
Bayern Munich have made it clear to Joao Palhinha that he can leave, and the Bavarians are looking to secure over £30 million for him, sources have told Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent at TBR Football.
At this point, Spurs are considering a £20 million deal, as Palhinha would require a three-year deal minimum, which is what he currently has at Bayern.
As TBR Football reported, Tottenham held talks with Palhinha’s camp last week, and personal terms would not be an issue.
A new name which has emerged on Tottenham’s list is Conor Gallagher, with Atletico Madrid open to selling the midfielder.
The 25-year-old is unlikely to be a regular starter at the Wanda Metropolitano, and he will also be thinking about next summer’s World Cup.
Douglas Luiz would love to join Tottenham, and is yet another player who is pushing to make a return to the Premier League.
Reports suggest Everton are working on a deal for Luiz, but Spurs are also in the frame for the Brazilian.
Fenerbahce are the main contenders to sign Yves Bissouma
As it stands, the main suitors for Yves Bissouma are Fenerbahce, with the North London club looking to upgrade him.
Fenerbahce representatives flew to London over the weekend to hold talks with Spurs and Arsenal over deals for Bissouma and Leandro Trossard, respectively.
Tottenham want to sell Bissouma and Fabio Paratici has been working to get him a move away from North London.
Juventus had held talks to sign the midfielder after their former director offered him to them, but those discussions never progressed.
The 28-year-old is starting to accept he might have to leave Spurs this summer, but he has made it clear that he will only agree to the right move away.
