Ange Postecoglou is holding his press conference after Tottenham's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs had not had the best of times when visiting the Toon in recent years with heavy defeats to Eddie Howe's side in each of their previous two encounters at St James Park. This time around Ange Postecoglou had an attack with no strikers as new £65million signing Dominic Solanke was not ready to return just yet after his ankle injury, while Richarlison suffered a muscle injury in training.
Postecoglou left out Micky van de Ven after the Dutchman's injury scare in the game against Everton last weekend and instead called upon Radu Dragusin to come into the backline. Postecoglou did have the returning Rodrigo Bentancur after his time out through the concussion protocol after his collision at Leicester and he the Uruguayan was back on the bench with Pape Matar Sarr in the team.
Spurs had the better of the first half for long periods with Sarr forcing Nick Pope into a couple of saves, but they were punished when Harvey Barnes was given too much space in the box to fire home Lloyd Kelly's low cross.
Tottenham levelled near the hour mark when, after Pedro Porro's cross struck the crossbar, James Maddison saw his shot palmed out by Pope and substitute Brennan Johnson's sliding follow-up was pushed on by the goalkeeper only for Newcastle defender Dan Burn to smash the loose ball into his own net.
The visitors created chances galore in the second half only to concede on the break when Jacob Murphy ran clear and squared for Alexander Isak to touch the ball home for the winning goal.
