Tottenham are reportedly very close to agreeing a deal to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City as Roberto De Zerbi continues his ambitious rebuild of the Spurs attack.

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has provided a major transfer update, claiming negotiations between Tottenham and Manchester City over Marmoush are now at an advanced stage.

The potential deal would come shortly after Spurs reportedly reached an agreement to sign Brazilian winger Savinho from City, raising the prospect of Tottenham completing a stunning double swoop from the Etihad Stadium.

Tottenham close to Omar Marmoush agreement

Thomas took to X to share a major transfer update, revealing that Tottenham Hotspur are now on the verge of landing Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Manchester City.

According to the Sky Sports man, negotiations between the two Premier League clubs are in an advanced stage and progressing rapidly.

The prospective deal comes directly on the heels of Spurs reaching an agreement to acquire Brazilian winger Savinho from the Etihad Stadium.

However, the timing of the double departure poses tactical dilemmas for City manager Enzo Maresca.

Maresca confirmed that Jérémy Doku is currently sidelined with an injury setback. With Savinho already bound for North London and Doku out of action, letting Marmoush leave threatens to leave Manchester City drastically light on options across their frontline heading into the heart of the campaign.

Savinho and Marmoush will make Spurs’ attack incredibly strong

If completed, bringing in both Savinho and Marmoush will transform Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline into one of the most formidable in the Premier League.

Since joining City from Eintracht Frankfurt for £60 million, Marmoush has often been deployed out of position on the wing or stuck in Erling Haaland’s shadow.

Craving a return to a central striker role, where he previously netted 37 goals in 67 appearances in Germany, Marmoush gives Spurs a dynamic, clinical goalscorer through the middle.

Coupled with Savinho’s explosive directness and flair on the wing, De Zerbi will possess an ideal blend of pace, versatility, and finishing ability.
