Neros Coachman announced that he had joined Tottenham as an academy scout before cracking jokes about the fact he supports rivals Arsenal in the comments section

Tottenham have been left irritated after an Arsenal-supporting new member of staff cracked jokes about the club on social media. Comments by Neros Coachman were spotted by Spurs fans and have now reached the club's hierarchy, who are reportedly considering action.

Coachman has joined Spurs as an academy scout, despite being an Arsenal fan. He shared the news on social media, drawing attention to his allegiances.

He wrote on Instagram: "Its official. I'm now here, I sat and had the conversation and the project was exciting to say the least. Now looking forward to getting the new set of superstars to the club. You know the projects good when your a boyhood Arsenal fan and you switch sides."

But it was the comments underneath the post that left a bitter taste in the mouth for some. One reply read: "Do not let that badge touch your skin," to which Coachman responded: "I've already got the base layer."

Another commenter said: "We need someone on the inside," with Coachman replying "shhhhh". Someone else then posted a picture of a snake and he said: "I know, I know, it’s deserved haha."

His words were quickly picked up on by Tottenham fans, who shared them on X. A post by The Spurs Express, which has now been viewed nearly 500,000 times, reads: "It is quite bizarre that, seemingly, a newly appointed member of staff at #Tottenham, who is a strong Arsenal fan, is openly mocking the club and joking about not wanting the badge to touch his skin, how 'it was tough' to put on Tottenham attire, and how he’ll be an 'inside man'. These are jokes, of course, but it doesn’t seem particularly befitting, given that he has taken up a role at #Spurs."

The Daily Mail reports that they have got back to the club, who are 'deeply unimpressed' and considering action against Coachman, who has reacted by making his Instagram account private, but not before his response on his Instagram story was screenshotted.

He wrote: "This is wild. Yes I'm and Arsenal Fan And yes I was joking with friends. As an arsenal fan of course I was joking about with friends regarding putting on a spurs kit.."

Coachman's remarks have not come at a good time, with Tottenham enduring a miserable season and having recently lost 4-1 to Arsenal. The team sits 16th the Premier League, four points above the relegation zone, having not won in 10 league matches.

Igor Tudor has been brought in to replace Thomas Frank but has started with back-to-back defeats in the Premier League. They host Crystal Palace on Thursday before turning their attention to the last 16 of the Champions League when they face Atletico Madrid on Tuesday in the first leg.
