TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur are refusing to rule out the prospect of Luka Vuskovic returning to the club in January.
Spurs are keeping regular checks on Vuskovic, as they do with all their loan players, and they were in attendance at the weekend to see him play a starring role in their 4-0 win over Mainz.
When leaving in the summer, the teenager was told to go and play and earn his spot at Tottenham Hotspur, and he is making a great fist of it thus far.
Thomas Frank wants a new central defender in the New Year, as TBR Football revealed, and they are doing their work on options.
Exclusive: Tottenham considering Luka Vuskovic
Sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, that Spurs could indeed recall Luka Vuskovic in January and would still want another defender signed.
Tottenham consider Vuskovic a top talent, and the defender has been quick to make a big impression in the Bundesliga.
Vuskovic has been called ‘insane’ by HSV fans following his latest impressive display for the German club against Mainz.
Following his seven goals last season for Westerlo in the Belgian Pro League, Vuskovic has already scored his first goal for HSV, with a brilliant header against 1. FC Heidenheim.
His impressive start to life in the Bundesliga has seen the German media nickname him ‘Air Vuskovic’, given his superb aerial ability.
Speaking about the defender’s situation, Bailey told TBR Football: “Vuskovic is doing very well, and at just 18, many scouts and clubs think he is one of the best young centre-backs in Europe.
“Speaking to sources close to the club, they acknowledge there is a clause that could see him return in January. Could we see Vuskovic come back and then wait until the summer? I would not rule it out.”
Radu Dragusin’s Tottenham future cast into doubt
One player who could be heading out of Tottenham is Radu Dragusin, who has struggled since making the switch to North London back in January 2024.
Dragusin has just returned to training following a seven-month injury layoff, having suffered an ACL injury back in January of this year.
TBR Football revealed back in July that Tottenham were open to selling Dragusin, however, the defender failed to secure a move away.
But with the defender now back fit, a return to Italy certainly could be on the cards in the January transfer window, especially with Spurs wanting another centre-back.
