Tottenham Hotspur have the opportunity to bring in some new signings before the end of the transfer window. They have until the deadline on Monday at 7pm to get any final bits of business over the line. The London outfit also have the chance to let some players head out the exit door as well if needed to free up space and funds.

Thomas Frank was picked as their replacement for Ange Postecoglou in the summer. Prior to his move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he caught the eye with fellow Premier League side Brentford. His team have six points on the board from their first three fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur eye Ademola Lookman

According to Fichajes, Spurs will ‘decide’ to move for Atalanta attacker Ademola Lookman before the market shuts. The 27-year-old, who is a Nigeria international with 27 caps under his belt, is under contract in Italy until 2027 so still has two years left to run down. He has been playing his football in Serie A since 2022.

Lookman, who is from London, is a key player for his current club but they could face a battle to keep hold of him amid attention from elsewhere. He has made 117 appearances in all competitions and has scored 52 goals, 20 of which have came last season. He also has seven goal contributions in the Champions League so far in his career.

The forward started out at Charlton Athletic and broke into their first-team as a youngster. Everton lured him to the top flight in 2016 and he spent three years with the Toffees, some of which he spent away on loan at RB Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester City. Atalanta came calling three years ago and he hasn’t looked back since.

Will Tottenham Hotspur sign Ademola Lookman?

It remains to be seen at this stage whether Spurs will be able to snap up Lookman from Atalanta. He would be an eye-catching coup if they managed to get him through the door. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch.

The London outfit were beaten 1-0 at home by AFC Bournemouth this weekend. Speaking afterwards, Frank said: “We clearly didn’t perform well today. We played against a very good Bournemouth team that we know can make it difficult for any team in the league. They played to their strengths. They did that very well and we didn’t handle it well. We knew exactly what they came with and we trained for it.

“We just didn’t handle it well enough in terms of the balls in behind, the second balls, duels in the middle of the park. That’s the defensive side and on the offensive side we struggled to find good enough solutions to get through phase one and two so we could get up there and put a bit of pressure on them. We only did that in the last 15 where we put on good pressure and could have equalised. I think over the game it was fair that Bournemouth won."
