Tottenham Hotspur are working hard to bring new players in for their newly appointed manager, Thomas Frank.
With Champions League football back on the menu in N17, the North London club require a big summer transfer window following what was a rather disappointing campaign.
Thomas Frank will be tasked with helping Spurs to climb the Premier League table, with the team having finished a record low of 17th last season.
The Lilywhites will need to bring him some big new signings, and one of their latest transfer targets has handed them a boost with his stance over a move to the Premier League.
Tottenham target Xavi Simons wants big financial package
Tottenham Hotspur ‘definitely’ have a chance to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons this summer, however, his demands could be an issue, according to Matt Law.
Spurs are one of several clubs eyeing a move for the Dutch international, and he is believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
The North London club would have no issues paying Simons’s reported £60m price tag, but the player is believed to be asking for a big financial package to join.
Law told Last Word On Spurs: “So Xavi Simons does want to come to England this summer and leave Leipzig, he’s got quite a few people looking at him, and I’m told Tottenham are definitely one of those where there is an interest.
“I don’t think it’s an easy deal to do, from what I’m told, I think he wants quite a big package himself, I don’t think the transfer fee would necessarily be something that would be a problem for Tottenham or other clubs.
“But I do think Tottenham are in the mix for him and are certainly interested, but I think there are a few, so I don’t think they’ll have a clear run at him. I definitely think they have a shout.”
The midfielder is ready to leave Leipzig this summer after they missed out on European football and Spurs could be the ones to take him.
Xavi Simons’ 2024/25 stats compared to Eberechi Eze’s
Another target for Tottenham is Eberechi Eze, who TBR Football understands is ‘very keen’ to make the switch to North London this summer.
Spurs have several attacking targets and must now decide which player to move this summer to bolster Frank’s options.
Simons and Eze both enjoyed solid seasons last term as they both showed why Tottenham are looking at the pair of them.
The Dutch midfielder has the edge over Eze in terms of goals, but the Crystal Palace man managed one more assist in the league than Simons.
Both players can play either in the number ten role or as a left winger, which could offer the Lilywhites some much-needed options in attack.
