Tottenham are locked in a four-way Premier League battle for Fulham star.
Tottenham Hotspur recently unveiled their first signing of the summer in the shape of former Liverpool star, Andy Robertson. A centre-back could be next through the door, with Marcos Senesi closing in on a free transfer from Bournemouth, while the North Londoners are also continuing talks with Brighton for star defender Jan Paul van Hecke.
Spurs also require influential and exciting wingers and forwards this summer. Manchester City’s Savinho is the primary option to bolster the wide department ahead of the 2026/27 season. Tottenham have agreed personal terms with Savinho and reached an agreement in principle on a contract until 2031. And in a positive update delivered by reliable Telegraph journalist Matt Law, the deal for the Manchester City winger is moving in the “right direction”.
Going by the latest updates and noises, it looks like the Savinho deal will get done, barring any last-minute gaffe. Should it not happen, it looks like the Lilywhites have already lined up an alternative target.
Tottenham express interest in signing Fulham star
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are in talks to sign Harry Wilson, who is set to become a free agent when his contract with Fulham expires at the end of the month. Everton, Leeds United and West Ham are all credited with an interest too, but it is Aston Villa who currently lead the race for the 29-year-old’s signature.
Fresh contacts with the Wales star’s representatives are expected this week, as Aston Villa boss Unai Emery looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of another taxing season featuring Champions League football. The Villans won the Europa League trophy by beating Freiburg last month and remain strong favourites to land Harry Wilson, but the player keeping his options wide open means Tottenham have a window of opportunity to sneak in.
Wilson is going to enter the transfer market on the back of his most productive campaign in the top flight, which yielded 10 goals and seven assists in 36 appearances. This has made him a hugely coveted commodity on a potential free transfer, and Spurs must not let the Fulham attacker slip through their hands.
The Welshman usually operates on the right wing, but he can also play as a No.10 and false 9, and De Zerbi will welcome a player with such versatility with both arms. He’d certainly provide guile, invention, movement and goals to Spurs’ attack, whilst improving the depth of the squad. In theory, Wilson should not be an alternative to Savinho; instead, he must be brought in from the corridors of the Hotspur Way.
On a free transfer, signing the Fulham star would be an excellent piece of business, but Aston Villa certainly holds an advantage thanks to Champions League football.
