Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window is in full swing as they confirmed their biggest signing so far this summer.

On Thursday night, Tottenham announced the arrival of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United on a long-term contract.

Tottenham paid £55million to West Ham for Kudus, who is reported to have signed a six-year deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Not only were Spurs fans buzzing to see Kudus join their club, but they loved the player’s announcement video, including his first words in a Tottenham shirt.

Tottenham fans buzzing as Mohammed Kudus says he ‘only wanted Spurs’

Just before the announcement, the Tottenham media team teased fans with a picture of a stool over a background of black stars.

Then came the announcement video, which began with Kudus saying “I only wanted Spurs”.

He was then unveiled to the sounds of Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy and his remixed version of Overlord, made specifically for Kudus.

Tottenham fans thoroughly enjoyed Kudus’ comments about only wanting their club, and promptly mocked West Ham and Kudus’ other suitors in the process.

“Coldest announcement of all times hands down,” one fan wrote on X.

“Mohammed Kudus saying he only wanted Spurs, hold that West Ham and all the other teams that were interested in him.”

The praise kept coming, with one fan saying: “Nahhh what an announcement. Only wanted Tottenham Hotspur. Our new number 20 – Kudus.”

Another supporter wrote: “Saying he only wanted Spurs… Kudus you have entered My Friend territory.”

Another said: “What an announcement, 10/10.”

What Tottenham plan to do next after signing Mohammed Kudus and Morgan Gibbs-White

Tottenham fans can expect another top signing from a rival Premier League club soon, with Morgan Gibbs-White set to arrive from Nottingham Forest.

Now, it has been reported that Spurs want to add a new central midfielder to the squad after wrapping up deals for Kudus and Gibbs-White.

The Times also claimed that Spurs are keen to sign another young talent like Kota Takai, who arrived from Kawasaki Frontale in a £5million deal earlier this week.

Earlier this year, Football Transfers claimed that Spurs have internally discussed a move for Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton.

One thing’s for sure – Tottenham are not wasting any time in fine-tuning their squad to ensure they can fly high domestically and in Europe next term.
