Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign an attacker this summer, and their search has now led them away from Eberechi Eze.

TBR Football reported that Tottenham have cooled their talks for Eze, with another target now being worked on for Thomas Frank’s squad.

Tottenham have held a long-term interest in Eze, with the 27-year-old being someone they have been following since at least 2019, when he was at QPR.

However, the North London club have now turned their attention elsewhere, and Spurs supporters have plenty to say about the latest twist.

Tottenham fans prefer Mohammed Kudus to Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur fans believe West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus would be a better fit for Frank’s team over Eberechi Eze.

TBR Football revealed that Tottenham have held advanced talks for Kudus and he is now the most advanced attacking option for them.

Frank has approved the move for Kudus and talks have started with both the player and the Hammers to learn the conditions of a move.

The East London club are believed to want around £60m for Kudus, who is open to joining Tottenham, which is £20m less than his current £80m release clause at the London Stadium.

Now, the 24-year-old has been made a priority signing ahead of Eze, and Spurs supporters believe the club are making the right choice to move for the Irons’ attacker.

One fan said: “Kudus is a better fit for us and the way I assume Frank would play. I love Eze, but with Maddison and Kulusevski in place, I don’t see where he fits in. Kudus improves our attack instantly.”

Another added: “I rate Eze and Simons, but Kudus is easily the best at right wing, which is what we need.”

There were yet more shouts to sign Kudus over Eze: “Something about Kudus that makes me think he could be a superstar more than someone like Semenyo. See the fit much more with Kudus than Eze or Simons.”

Finally, another said: “We need a right winger, badly. Frank could turn Kudus into an elite goal scorer. To be honest, the idea of Eze is always there, but it’s been dragged for so long.”

How Eberechi Eze compares to Mohammed Kudus

It’s tricky to compare both players based on last season, as Kudus had a tough campaign in a West Ham team that struggled.

Meanwhile, Eze played an integral role in Crystal Palace’s first FA Cup-winning season.

But it’s the Ghanaian’s dribbling ability which should be factored in here, as this is what Spurs are missing.

Since the start of the 2023/24 season, no Premier League player has completed more dribbles than Kudus, with 207 in total.

For the Lilywhites, their highest during that period has been Dejan Kulusevski with 86, highlighting the need for a winger who can carry the ball.
