Tottenham remain in search of a quality left-winger.
Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to rebound from their lowly 17th-place finish in the Premier League, and they have started taking the right steps towards it by making moves in the transfer market.
The Lilywhites announced the capture of Andy Robertson on a free transfer from Liverpool on Friday afternoon. The experienced left-back has become the club’s first signing of the Roberto De Zerbi era. Marcos Senesi is set to follow Robertson’s footsteps into N17, with Spurs having reached a verbal agreement with the former Bournemouth man.
There has been a bid rejected for Jan Paul van Hecke by Brighton and Hove Albion, as the Dutchman has emerged as another possible defensive reinforcement in the transfer window. Tottenham’s priority to address their defensive woes makes total sense, but they also need quality reinforcements at the other end of the pitch.
Tottenham get boost in pursuit of West Ham attacker
Tottenham have revived their interest in West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, after missing out on his services in the winter transfer window.
Crysencio Summerville was arguably the Hammers’ standout performer in an otherwise disastrous season that ended in relegation from the Premier League. The fleet-footed Dutchman bagged five goals and four assists in 31 league appearances, and his impressive performances have attracted significant attention across the Premier League and Europe.
Having been relegated to the Championship, West Ham are resigned to losing several of their star performers. According to a report from The Athletic, while West Ham are desperate to keep the likes of Mateus Fernandes and Jarrod Bowen, Summerville is a player who is expected to leave.
This opens the door for Tottenham to finally agree a deal for the winger, handing Roberto De Zerbi a clear boost in the offensive department. There is competition for the 24-year-old’s signature, though, with Serie A clubs Napoli and Milan actively pursuing the former Leeds United man.
Crysencio Summerville would inject life into Tottenham’s attack
For the majority of the past campaign, Tottenham struggled to create chances and score goals. The forwards royally disappointed, bar Richarlison, who ended the season as the top scorer with 12 strikes. The quality on show from the wingers was also not up to the mark, something that definitely needs addressing in this transfer window.
Interest in Summerville certainly makes a lot of sense. The diminutive Dutchman has been a useful player for West Ham since joining from Leeds in 2024, and he could prove to be an interesting acquisition for Tottenham. He can operate on either flank, as well as centrally behind the main striker. Tottenham need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and the West Ham man would be ideal for us.
Despite West Ham’s relegation, it’s no wonder Summerville has been called up to the Netherlands squad for the upcoming World Cup in North America. Without a shadow of doubt, the Rotterdam-born talent could be attracted to the idea of joining Spurs, especially if De Zerbi can offer him a crucial role in the first XI. He will undoubtedly want to play regularly at a high level to unlock his true potential.
