Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on Tottenham star ahead of potential summer move.

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Pedro Porro has made waves since making the switch to the Premier League. The Spanish international’s consistent performances for Spurs have made him a mainstay in the team. And it is fair to say that he is one of the first players to get listed in the teamsheet.

The defender played a pivotal role in the North London club’s run in the Europa League last season as well. He helped the team go all the way in the competition, ending the Lilywhites’ 17-year wait for silverware.

However, like several of his teammates, Pedro Porro has endured an inconsistent campaign. Since Roberto De Zerbi took Tottenham’s reins during the March international break, Porro, though, has been one of the most improved players. He has worked hard to eliminate defensive mistakes and added more to his game going forward in recent weeks.

Tottenham get surprise boost amid Pedro Porro’s exit links

With Tottenham’s Premier League status still uncertain heading into the final game of the season on Sunday, several clubs are paying close attention to Porro’s situation. Real Madrid have been among those monitoring the Spaniard’s position, as they look to improve their defensive options ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Real Madrid have endured an underwhelming season and are set to go trophyless. Jose Mourinho is reportedly close to returning to Santiago Bernabeu as the new head coach, and we could see president Florentino Perez spend heavily in the transfer market to back him. Defensive reinforcements appear to be a priority after so many injuries and the number of goals they have conceded this season.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Diario AS, the €40m Porro is admired internally at Real Madrid. However, they consider the price tag expensive for a player who would arrive as a deputy to Trent Alexander-Arnold. At this stage, Los Blancos are not prepared to spend heavily on a backup full-back option and instead consider an internal solution.

This should be pleasing to hear for Tottenham officials and fans, but it also raises the responsibility of the club to become competitive every season and win trophies. Real Madrid poached the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale from Spurs in the last decade, so they would not find it difficult to lure Porro away if at all they change their stance.

This is why it is important for the Lewis Family to back Roberto De Zerbi in the transfer market and help him rebuild the squad as per his own vision. Hopefully, the Italian manages to guide the North Londoners to safety on the final day of the season.
