Tottenham appear poised to secure a major transfer breakthrough in talks with Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze. The clubs are engaged in direct discussions over a permanent move, expected to cost around £60million, with hopes the attacking midfielder could feature in Spurs' upcoming Premier League clash away to Manchester City.

The potential transfer seemed to reach a pivotal moment this past weekend when Eze's absence from Palace's match against Chelsea became a genuine possibility. Nevertheless, both the player and Oliver Glasner decided he would take part in the fixture.

Following that scoreless stalemate at Stamford Bridge, Eze appeared to bid farewell to the Palace faithful in the visiting section. Should that prove to be his final outing for the Eagles, Eze was robbed of a storybook ending when his spectacular free-kick was ruled out due to an infringement by Marc Guehi.

Oliver Glasner believes that wasn't his final appearance though, with the Palace boss making his stance on the Eze transfer situation crystal clear.

Discussing the England international on Sunday afternoon, he stated: "He will come tomorrow to the Crystal Palace training ground, Tuesday off, we take Wednesday, and I expect him to be back playing for us against Fredrikstad."

With two years left on his contract and Eze expressing his desire to join, it's unlikely that Palace will block his move. However, the deal could potentially stall until Palace secures a replacement, a goal that seems closer following an update on Bilal El Khannouss.

Selhurst Park has reached out to the Leicester City star, with TBR Football reporting that he prefers a move to Palace over Everton, Leeds United, and West Ham.

TBR Football's lead reporter Graeme Bailey shared: "I am told that El Khannouss has been considering his options and they are plentiful – varying from England, Europe and Saudi Arabia. However, Palace sources are very happy with how talks have gone, and they like the player."

The Foxes are now demanding £30million for the Moroccan international after his relegation release clause, which was significantly cheaper, expired. This financial requirement likely means that Palace will want a large portion of the Eze fee paid upfront, while Spurs will hope they can pay it in favorable installments given their other transfer plans.

In addition to Eze, Savinho from Manchester City has also been targeted, but it will probably require a record-breaking package deal to sign the 21-year-old. Thomas Frank is also seeking a new defender, even with Cristian Romero's long-term future secured after signing a new contract.
