TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about signing Bilal El Khannouss after missing out on Eberechi Eze.

Spurs were on the verge of securing the England international’s services, with a deal struck with Crystal Palace in principle to land him.

However, as TBR confirmed, Arsenal agreed terms with Palace for Eze, and the player is scheduled to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of completing his move to the Emirates.

Tottenham have already started working on other options, and El Khannouss is one of the names on their wish list.

Exclusive: Tottenham enquire about signing Bilal El Khannouss after Arsenal hijack Eberechi Eze move

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Tottenham have enquired about Leicester City star Bilal El Khannouss.

The Morocco international had a fine season for the Foxes and impressed everyone despite suffering relegation from the Premier League.

TBR exclusively revealed in July that Tottenham were among the clubs monitoring El Khannouss, but their focus shifted to Eberechi Eze.

Now, after Arsenal hijacked that deal, we can reveal that Spurs have enquired about El Khannouss’ situation again, while another attempt was made to sign Savinho from Manchester City.

Bailey told TBR: “Tottenham have enquired about the situation surrounding Bilal El Khannouss, who Crystal Palace have agreed terms with to replace Eze.

“However, despite El Khanouss agreeing to join Palace, the deal is not done.

“I have also been told that Spurs have again asked about Savinho, but they have received no encouragement from City.

“Tyler Dibling is another player on Tottenham’s radar, and Spurs have maintained an interest in him too. Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott is another one they admire.

“Tottenham are working hard; they already know the market.”

Bilal El Khannouss vs Eberechi Eze stats compared

Eze was definitely the dream target for Tottenham fans.

The Englishman would’ve been perfect for them after James Maddison’s injury, but Spurs fans will now have to watch him play for Arsenal.

El Khannouss, who has been hailed as a ‘powerful’ player by The Scouting App, is not bad at all, and his numbers are decent considering that it was his first season in the Premier League and he played for a team that is now in the Championship.

Eze is clearly the better player – there’s no debate there.

However, El Khannouss is still only 21 years old and has the potential to become an absolute star in the Premier League coming years.

We’re sure Spurs fans will still prefer Eze or another big name, but El Khannouss could prove to be a very shrewd signing if they can get him.
