TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur have lost faith in one of their first-team defenders and are open to selling him this summer

Thomas Frank will be looking to reshape his new Spurs squad this summer and will have plenty of tough calls to make in terms of departures.

Tottenham Hotspur finished 17th in the Premier League last season, and therefore, there will be several players who could be moved on.

There is one player in particular who finds himself low down the pecking order in North London, and now the Lilywhites would not be opposed to his sale.

Tottenham open to selling Radu Dragusin this summer

Tottenham are likely to be open to Radu Dragusin leaving North London this summer, claims TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey.

The defender has fallen in the pecking order at the North London club with Kevin Danso jumping above him following his arrival back in January.

Dragusin, who Tottenham signed for £25m, has struggled to make an impression in N17, and now the Lilywhites would not stand in his way if he decided to leave.

Bailey told TBR Football: “I think an interesting one at Tottenham to keep an eye on is Dragusin, because Danso is now well ahead of him in the pecking order.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if we see something with Dragusin this summer and a possible exit. I don’t think Spurs have been blown away by what he’s done since arriving at the club.

“There has also been a bit of agitating from the player, I think even in January he was agitating a little bit, and I guess this is what happens when you’re signing squad players

“When you get someone like Dragusin arrive and he’s confident that he can get a first-team spot, but he ends up sitting on the bench, then you have an issue. I’m not sure Spurs would stand in his way.”

Ashley Phillips, Luka Vuskovic and Kato Takai set to arrive at Tottenham

Tottenham will be well stocked in central defence during pre-season with Ashley Phillips, Luka Vuskovic and Kato Takai all set to arrive at Hotspur Way.

Takai is close to joining Tottenham from Japanese first division club, Kawasaki Frontale, where he has already made 78 appearances for the first team.

Tottenham are excited about Vuskovic’s potential, and the 18-year-old is likely to be assessed by Frank during pre-season.

Bailey added: “I think he might become someone who is moved on, and as you said, they do have options coming in. Phillips and Vuskovic are very good young players, and Kato is also set to sign.

“I still think the Spurs would like another left-footed defender. The way Spurs’ injury list is, even if you’re third, fourth or fifth choice, you’re going to see some game time.”
