Tottenham have had a bid of £34.5million rejected for a talented Como youngster.
As reported by Sky Sport Italia, Thomas Frank's side made the offer for midfielder Nico Paz.
Como boss Cesc Fabregas is eager to keep hold of Paz, who has also been linked with a return to Real Madrid.
Paz progressed through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and the Spanish club have a 50 per cent sell-on clause as well as several buy-back options.
Como emphatically rejected Tottenham's offer for Paz and it is believed that they want a fee of closer to £60million for the 20-year-old.
Paz made eight senior appearances for Real Madrid and the Spanish club have the option to re-sign him for just £7.8million until June 30, 2026 and £8.6million the following year.
In addition, Real also have a 50 per cent sell-on clause for future deals involving Paz.
Real previously decided not to re-sign Paz this summer but a decision has yet to be made regarding a potential future purchase.
A talented creative player who mainly operates as an attacking midfielder, Paz is also capable of playing as a striker or a winger.
Last season Paz made 35 appearances for Como across all competitions and scored six goals, while he provided nine assists.
He has been capped by Argentina at senior level on three occasions.
Tottenham midfielder James Maddison is expected to miss the majority of the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Maddison suffered a blow to the knee during the pre-season friendly against Newcastle last week.
