In a recent report, L’Equipe claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to land Paris Saint-Germain keeper Lucas Chevalier. It has been revealed that Spurs could face competition in the form of Besiktas in the race to land the French custodian this off-season.

Chevalier’s Important Role At Paris Saint-Germain

The 24-year-old was a good rotational piece in PSG’s squad last season when he produced a series of solid displays for them in Ligue 1. Chevalier made 26 appearances for the French outfit in the previous campaign, conceding 28 goals and earning ten clean sheets on all fronts.

The French sensation is currently among the most talented keepers in Ligue 1. Thus, it is no wonder that Spurs are showing interest in recruiting him in this summer transfer window.

His current contract at the Ligue 1 club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Tottenham Hotspur to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Snap Chevalier Up This Summer?

Chevalier is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves at the back for his team. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when being chased down by the opposition and is a good passer of the ball as well.

Standing at 1.89m, the French sensation can use his commanding frame to dominate his penalty area when defending the opposition’s set-pieces. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if Spurs manage to get him on board this off-season.

We can expect Chevalier to add more quality to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s backline. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting place at the North London club in the coming years.

At 24, Chevalier has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for Spurs to pursue this summer. However, De Zerbi has to give him some time to adjust to life in England. All in all, Tottenham would be wise to go all out to snap Chevalier up before the end of this transfer window.
