Tottenham Hotspur Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Liverpool Winger: Should De Zerbi Move In For Him?

-
In a recent report, Alfredo Pedulla stated that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a keen eye on Liverpool winger Cody Gakpo. It is believed that Spurs are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Dutch wide player later this year.
Gakpo’s Inconsistent Campaign In The Premier League
Gakpo struggled to be consistent for the Merseyside club in the previous campaign, but managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them on the left flank. The Dutch wing wizard did well to score nine times and secure six assists in 52 matches for the Reds last season in various competitions.
The 27-year-old is currently one of the most talented wide men in the Premier League. Thus, it is no surprise that Spurs are showing interest in recruiting him in this transfer window.
His current contract at Anfield will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to land him on a cut-price deal this off-season.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Move In For Gakpo?
Gakpo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for others around him on the offensive third of the pitch.
The Dutch sensation can strike the ball with venom and precision from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of crucial goals for his side. Gakpo mainly operates as a left-winger but can also function as a centre-forward if told to do so by his manager. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Tottenham if they manage to get him on board this summer.
We can expect Gakpo to bring more quality and depth to Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the North London club in the coming years.
At 27, Gakpo has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Tottenham to consider in this transfer window. Hence, De Zerbi would be wise to move in for him before the end of this summer transfer window.
