Tottenham Hotspur chief executive Vinai Venkatesham has been at the club’s training ground since the early hours of today, according to Sky Sports. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club suffered a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the first-leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie last night. Spurs manager Igor Tudor has lost all the four games he has overseen since replacing Thomas Frank, and there are growing calls to sack him.
He spent the night at the on-site hotel of the Tottenham training ground, where he has been staying since moving to England. It remains to be seen if he will be available to oversee the trip to Liverpool on Sunday when Premier League action resumes or the return-leg against Atletico next Wednesday. However, it is believed the Spurs boss and Venkatesham are in talks over recent performances, and the Tottenham chief will be the one to tell him he has been sacked if it comes to that.
The fans want Tudor gone as nothing has improved since his arrival, and the club could be in the relegation zone if they lose to Liverpool this weekend.
