Our Academy will feature in the third series of ‘The Football Academy’, which returns Monday 15 September on CBBC and BBC iPlayer.

The series highlights the journeys of players across our boys’ and girls’ Academy teams, as well as the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s Cerebral Palsy football team, following the stories of some of our most talented young players and their goals to become a professional footballer.

The 15-episode series is narrated by lifelong Spurs fan Mathew Horne and produced by ZigZag. It also includes appearances from Club legends Ledley King, Michael Dawson, Sandro and Jenna Schillaci, as well as first-team players Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie, Martha Thomas, Kit Graham and Lenna-Gunning Williams.

To celebrate the launch of the series, the Club hosted an exclusive premiere event on Wednesday evening at our Stadium featuring representatives from the show and their families. Several young stars of the show joined Ben Haines on stage to discuss their reflections of working on the series, whilst Lenna and Ledley also spoke on what it takes to become a professional player based on their own experiences coming through our Academy.

Simon Davies, Academy Director at Tottenham Hotspur, said: “We are incredibly proud to see the stories of our young players recognised as part of ‘The Football Academy’ series. The series showcases not only the talent that exists within our Academy but also speaks to the values we instil at the Club for our young players, as well as the sheer amount of hard work and dedication it takes from players and their families in the journey towards professional football. We hope everyone enjoys watching the series as much as our players enjoyed taking part in it.”

Sarah Muller, Senior Head of Commissioning 7+ for BBC Children’s and Education said: “The Football Academy continues to showcase incredible talent, determination and diversity of the young players on the path to footballing excellence. Series 3 brings fresh faces and brand new stories, capturing everything from epic matches and personal challenges to inspiring friendships and unforgettable moments. It’s a celebration of youth football and the power it has to shape lives.”

Mathew Horne said: “I’m thrilled to be narrating this brilliant series. It’s a joy to see the stars of tomorrow in action. What a privilege!”

Danny Fenton, CEO of Zig Zag said: “Zig Zag is very excited to deliver Season 3 of The Football Academy at Tottenham Hotspur. The players and infrastructure at The Spurs Academy are second to none and we were lucky enough to be there to document their stories. Personally, as a lifelong Spurs fan it was somewhat of a labour of love but also something to be proud of both personally and professionally “

The Football Academy Season 3 airs weekdays at 5.35pm on CBBC from Monday 15 September. All 15 episodes will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from the same date.
