In a recent report, Estadio Deportivo revealed that Tottenham Hotspur were showing interest in re-signing Real Betis striker Troy Parrott. It has been mentioned that Spurs were eyeing a move to bring the talented forward back to North London last summer, but failed to do so.
Parrott’s Impressive Record In La Liga This Season
Parrott has made a decent start to this La Liga campaign as he has put in a few impressive displays for Real Betis in the final third. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net twice and earned one assist in seven matches for the Spanish outfit this season in various competitions.
The Republic of Ireland talent is currently among the most talented strikers in La Liga. Hence, Spurs would do well to bring him back to England next year.
His current contract with Real Betis will expire in the summer of 2031, which could make it tough for Tottenham to land him on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign.
Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Go Back For Parrott?
Parrott can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
Standing at 1.85m, the Republic of Ireland sensation is a strong presence in the air as well. Parrott mainly plays as a centre-forward but can also operate as a winger on either flank if asked to do so. However, there are some question marks on whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if Spurs manage to re-sign him next year.
We can expect Parrot to bring more quality and depth to Tottenham’s frontline. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
At 24, Parrott has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Spurs to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign. With all things considered, De Zerbi would be wise to go back for him in 2027.
