Tottenham are scouring the market for a new goalkeeper amid Guglielmo Vicario’s uncertain future.

Tottenham Hotspur have been focusing on strengthening their defence first in the transfer window. They have verbally agreed deals with Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi, with the duo set to join on free transfers from Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively, at the end of June.

Robertson and Senesi will bolster a Spurs backline that conceded more goals last season than every team apart from the bottom three. At the same time, Roberto De Zerbi could do well with a new face in goal next season.

Guglielmo Vicario has failed to prove himself a reliable goalkeeper ever since he arrived from Empoli in 2023. The 29-year-old endured another season filled with errors and inconsistent performances. He underwent groin surgery during the March international break, and when fit again, struggled to become the undisputed No.1. A potential move away from White Hart Lane has been floated, with Juventus emerging as a destination.

Benfica reveal Anatoliy Trubin’s valuation amid Tottenham interest

Wary of Vicario’s exit links, Spurs are scouring the goalkeeper market. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has emerged as a target for the Lilywhites. There is also interest in Benfica’s Anatoliy Trubin, who enjoyed a strong 2025/26 campaign under Jose Mourinho.

The Ukrainian international, who kept 13 clean sheets for Benfica this past season, has admitted he would love to work with De Zerbi again. Now it has emerged what it could take for Spurs to lure the talented shot-stopper to the Premier League.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha (h/t Sport Witness), Benfica are willing to listen to offers in the region of €40m for Anatoliy Trubin. However, they are not in a rush to sell their star goalkeeper as he is under contract until 2028. And especially after another strong season in Lisbon and Marco Silva close to becoming the new manager, the Eagles would do everything possible to keep hold of him.

It remains to be seen when Tottenham will make an official move to bring Trubin to N17, but De Zerbi will know all about the Ukrainian and his qualities, having worked with him at Shakhtar Donetsk. The arrival of the 24-year-old could also depend on what happens with Vicario, whose future at Spurs is becoming increasingly uncertain.

After narrowly beating the drop, the Lilywhites cannot walk into the new season with Vicario as our No.1. Upgrading the goalkeeping department is an absolute must, so we must not hesitate to splash the cash and sign the talented Trubin.
