Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on Antoine Semenyo following a setback in their bid to land Bryan Mbeumo. The north Londoners were rumoured to have registered an interest in the attacker, but Mbeumo is said to be favouring a move to Manchester United instead.
United had already seen one bid rebuffed when Spurs’ interest was made known, with Spurs hoping the possible arrival of Bees boss Thomas Frank would work in their favour. However, despite Tottenham being able to boast Champions League football, Mbeumo is instead believed to be set on a move to Old Trafford.

Sky Sports are reporting that Tottenham are keen to ramp up their interest in Semenyo, but could face a similar outcome to their pursuit of Mbeumo, given United are also keeping tabs on the 25-year-old. It comes amid a summer rebuild at United, with Ruben Amorim targeting several attacking additions, having already penned a deal worth £62.5m for Matheus Cunha.

In an emotional statement following his sacking, Postecoglou said: "The opportunity to lead one of England's historic football clubs and bring back the glory it deserves will live with me for a lifetime. Sharing that experience with all those who truly love this club and seeing the impact it had on them is something I will never forget.
"That night in Bilbao was the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication and unwavering belief in a dream. There were many challenges to overcome and plenty of noise that comes with trying to accomplish what many said was not possible. We have also laid foundations that mean this club should not have to wait 17 more years for their next success. I have enormous faith in this group of players and know there is much more potential and growth in them.”
