At the start of August, we covered claims from Spain explaining that Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Barcelona’s Marc Casadó.

The midfielder is on the front page of today’s Sport, with ‘dilemma Casadó’ written in bold.

Within the report, they mention Tottenham’s interest when discussing his current situation and what could happen this summer.

Last season, the Spain international played over 2,400 minutes from 36 games, mainly due to injuries to other players. He lost prominence towards the end of last season after Frenkie de Jong regained full fitness.

For Hansi Flick, the Dutchman is said to be ahead of the 21-year-old. This saw clubs like Tottenham, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid make approaches for the latter at the start of this window.

Casadó wants to succeed at the Camp Nou and didn’t entertain Spurs or another club. The newspaper reports the Europa League winners are still in the mix to sign him. Real Betis are also his interested parties, but the player’s valuation makes it complicated for them.

According to Sport, the La Liga winners and the Spaniard’s entourage are well aware of Tottenham and other clubs’ interest and are waiting to see if there’ll be any development in the coming days.

Casadó knows he’s unlikely to have a major role under Flick this season but isn’t willing to give up yet on his dream of being a regular for Barca. If he were to decide to change clubs in this window, Barcelona are willing to sell the midfielder for €30m.

Tottenham are one of his contenders and will be waiting to see whether Casadó decides to leave Barcelona this summer. Otherwise, there’s unlikely to be any development in this case.
