Tottenham have been linked with ‘this’ striker of late.
Tottenham Hotspur has been looking to bring in a new striker in the ongoing summer transfer window as Roberto De Zerbi looks to resolve the goal-scoring problem at N17 before going into the new season.
And while many have been linked with a move, the North Londoners are said to be exploring a move for Dusan Vlahovic after his contract with Juventus becomes due before the new season.
Tottenham contact established
According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, the Lilywhites are said to have been spoken to about his availability after his departure from Juventus. Alongside Spurs, Premier League duo Chelsea and Newcastle United are also said to be monitoring his situation closely.
The 26-year-old is one of the most acclaimed #9s that are available in the market for a free transfer given his record of 120 goals in 303 senior appearances. And while there have been reports that insist salary demands are a problem, the aforementioned report claims that Vlahovic wants to pen down a deal worth around £150,000 per week, which comes down to approximately £8 million per year.
For a club with a stature of Tottenham, that should not be a significant concern.
Though being said, the report states that signing bonuses and agent fees will be a rather bigger issue, which can end up increasing the overall cost of the transfer.
Dusan Vlahovic-Juve reunion is not just ruled out
Although Vlahovic is available, a return to negotiations with Juventus has not been ruled out completely just yet, with the report stating that Giovanni Carnevali (the new CEO at Juventus) is being open to reopening discussions to ensure that he remains in Turin.
But that being said, Vlahovic will have to lower his financial demands if that were to happen.
And this is exactly the sense of uncertainty that has alerted clubs across Europe to sign him, with Spanish giants Atletico Madrid also credited with interest in the 26-year-old.
The Turkish side Besiktas are also pushing particularly hard to try and sign him, and they are said to be willing to meet his financial expectations.
While for Tottenham, this is an opportunity to sign an experienced striker who was once compared to Harry Kane without paying a transfer fee, which is surely attractive.
Now we will see where this goes from here. But would you take Vlahovic at Tottenham when next season comes around? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
