Spurs could be about to take their transfer spending above the £300million mark with another high-profile deal
It has already been a busy summer for Tottenham Hotspur and the spending doesn't look like stopping. After clinching deals for Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, Spurs' next signing could take the summer outlay above £300million.
There have also been some high-profile free transfers, with Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi moving to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium along with Martin Dúbravka. And, like Robertson, the next new face is set to be someone the club have pursued for some time.
According to The Mail, Spurs and Manchester City are on the verge of wrapping up a deal to send Savinho to north London. A fee of £65m has been cited, which would mean City more than double their money on the Brazil international, who was pursued long before Roberto De Zerbi took charge.

The 22-year-old is unlikely to be the only forward joining this summer, with a wider revamp of the forward line planned. Senegal star Ibrahim Mbaye is another target, though City themselves are among the other suitors for the youngster.
Mbaye, 18, has his path to regular minutes blocked at current club Paris Saint-Germain. However, he caught the eye at the World Cup, scoring in his country's group stage defeat to France.
City, Spurs, Aston Villa and RB Leipzig are named as potential suitors. Despite Mbaye having two years left on his contract, De Zerbi's side have been given the green light on a deal after Fabrizio Romano reported the player plans to leave the Parc des Princes this summer.
His promise is clear and with a long line of interested parties, Spurs would be wise to move fast and make him their next signing after Savinho. The pair are both versatile wingers and can rotate to help ease the burden on their young shoulders.
De Zerbi's transfer push in his first window in charge comes with a number of stars still on the treatment table, One of those is Xavi Simons, who shared an Instagram post detailing his rehab after an ACL injury.
A number of Spurs players sent messages of support in the comments, among them fellow injury victim Wilson Odobert. Curiously, Savinho did the same, prompting Spurs fans to urge the winger to join.
Spurs have also recouped more than £60m in sales this summer, the bulk of it coming from Luka Vuskovic's move to Brighton. Alejo Veliz and Alfie Devine have also completed permanent exits while Radu Dragusin has joined former Spurs transfer chief Fabio Paratici at Fiorentina on a season-long loan with a conditional obligation to buy.
