Tottenham are considering making a move for a player they missed out on in the January transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur dealt West Ham United a hammer blow last weekend after beating Everton 1-0 at home to secure their Premier League status. By doing so, Spurs relegated the Hammers from the Premier League.

It looks like the North Londoners want to address their problems in attack as a priority, which is understandable after the kind of season they have just concluded. Spurs will also be enticed to raid any of the three clubs that went down from the Premier League, hoping to secure cut-price deals.

Tottenham could now hand West Ham another big setback in the summer transfer window after sending them down to the second tier of English football. The Hammers’ relegation on the final day of the campaign opens the door for the Spurs bosses to raid them for the second summer running.

Tottenham plan to try to sign West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville

Spurs are a host of clubs who have been linked with a move for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville.

Crysencio Summerville was undoubtedly West Ham’s standout performer in an otherwise torrid campaign. While injuries have hurt him, he has performed well at the London Stadium, bagging five goals and four assists in 31 Premier League outings.

Now, according to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, Tottenham are making a concrete offer for Summerville. The value of the offer is not clear at this moment. West Ham have to raise over £100m in player sales, which could lead to a mass exodus of players.

The electric winger‘s form this past season has earned him a spot in the Netherlands squad for the World Cup. The World Cup spotlight could see him attract even more attention in the transfer window.

Tottenham must go all out to sign Crysencio Summerville

Tottenham’s interest in Summerville intensified ever since he tormented the club at home back in January. The diminutive Dutchman was unplayable that evening, scoring the opener in West Ham’s 2-1 win over Spurs. With the winger’s future up in the air following West Ham’s relegation, Spurs must test their London counterparts’ resolve in the summer.

The North Londoners have been widely identified as lacking genuine creativity and guile in wide areas throughout the entirety of their disastrous season. Summerville, by profile and by reputation, is just the kind of player who can address that deficiency directly. Thanks to his speed, work rate, directness, and dribbling, the West Ham man would instantly elevate Tottenham’s quality in attack.

De Zerbi would also love to work with the Netherlands international, given that the attacker fits the technical and positional profile the Italian has consistently favoured throughout his managerial career. A creative, technically assured player capable of operating out wide and between the lines, Summerville’s qualities align naturally with what De Zerbi wants to build at White Hart Lane.
