Girona have an option to buy Bryan Gil after signing him on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Earlier this month, we covered claims from Spain that the La Liga club can’t afford to pay €15m to buy the forward. It was also stated Villarreal are eyeing the Tottenham man for the summer window.

La Razón back up the Yellow Submarine’s interest and provide more on the 24-year-old’s situation.

With Girona unlikely to retain Gil, he’ll have to return to Tottenham, where his contract lasts until 2026.

The Spain international scored four goals and registered three assists from 32 games for Girona. His season had to be cut short after an injury setback in March.

That hasn’t put off Villarreal, clubs from the United States or Saudi Arabia. The report states unnamed clubs from the Middle East and MLS are ‘eager to tempt’ the Tottenham owned player with ‘dizzying offers’.

Gil prefers to continue in Spain and finds Villarreal an ‘attractive option’ since they qualified for the Champions League.

For now, the Yellow Submarine have their sights set on him but haven’t made advances. If they decide to, Tottenham’s willingness to sell should make it easier for them.
