Tottenham Hotspur will ‘plot’ a move for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer, according to Football Insider. The London outfit are in the market for a new stopper ahead of next season. Guglielmo Vicario is facing an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs are sat in 16th place in the Premier League table. They are four points above the drop zone as they look to preserve their top flight status. Igor Tudor’s side were beaten 4-1 at home by rivals Arsenal last time out.

Tottenham Hotspur linked with Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson

Spurs could see Henderson as someone to be their number one going forward. He has been a key player for Crystal Palace over recent times and helped them win the FA Cup last year. His contract at Selhurst Park expires in June 2028.

Henderson, who is an England international with four caps to his name, joined the Eagles back in 2023. He has since become their first choice in South London. The 28-year-old has made 98 appearances in all competitions, 34 of which have come in this campaign.

The Cumbria-born man rose up through Manchester United’s ranks and went on to play 29 matches for their first-team during his days at Old Trafford. He was also loaned out by the Red Devils to Stockport County, Grimsby Town, Shrewsbury Town, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest to get some experience under his belt and to boost his development. Crystal Palace then subsequently snapped him up on a permanent basis and he hasn’t looked back since.

What has been said about Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Dean Henderson?

Ex-football chief executive Mick Brown has told Football Insider: “Tottenham are looking at a few new goalkeepers. If they can come to an agreement to sell Vicario in the summer, they’re going to need to bring in a replacement for him and somebody who will improve their side. The Crystal Palace goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, is somebody I hear Tottenham have been impressed by.

“Since the start of last season, he’s really upped his game for Palace and has become a crucial part of the success he’s had, he’s become a really top-class goalkeeper. He’s an England international as well which will always appeal to a side like Tottenham.”
