Thomas Frank’s team face Burnley in their first Premier League game of the season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Danish head coach will be looking to pick his side back up following their disappointing UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham Hotspur managed to surrender a 2-0 lead with just five minutes of normal time remaining to miss out on the chance of more European silverware.

But the Lilywhites did show much promise against the European champions and will head into Saturday’s season opener full of confidence.

Thomas Frank is in desperate need of an Eberechi Eze-type signing before Burnley

Thomas Frank is unlikely to be so defensive against Burnley as he was against PSG and will revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Although the 51-year-old is likely to remain without an obvious number ten option, with Tottenham’s talks for Eberechi Eze still ongoing.

TBR Football understands that Arsenal are out of the race for Eze, leaving Spurs with a clear run at signing the Crystal Palace forward.

Pape Matar Sarr is once again set to play in the more advanced midfield role, with the deal for the 27-year-old unlikely to be done in time for the first game of the new season.

That means just one change for the former Brentford manager, with Wilson Odobert coming in to replace Kevin Danso to allow Spurs to be a bit more attacking.

Mohammed Kudus impressed against PSG and will be making his home debut in N17, which will excite the home supporters.

Tottenham are also continuing work on Savinho, but doing a deal for Eze appears to have become the main focus for now.

Eberechi Eze tells Crystal Palace he is keen to join Tottenham

Tottenham’s hopes of signing Eze have been boosted by the fact that the midfielder has informed Crystal Palace he is keen to join Tottenham, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The North London club are believed to be readying their first offer for the England international, but the player’s desire to make the switch across London could help them.

Romano claims: “Tottenham are not only working on Savinho, but also Eberechi Eze. For Eberechi Eze, Tottenham are preparing a proposal to send to Crystal Palace to try to get the deal done for Eze.

“Tottenham are on it, the negotiation is set to start very soon, my understanding is that the player is clearly indicating to Crystal Palace that he is keen on a move to Tottenham.”
