Tottenham willing to outbid Arsenal for Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané

Tottenham capped off their season on a high with a Europa League triumph, securing not only silverware but also a significant financial boost to support their ambitious summer overhaul. As the transfer window approaches, Spurs are preparing to go head-to-head with North London rivals Arsenal for one of the most sought-after soon-to-be free agents.

Arsenal, under the guidance of their new sporting director Andrea Berta, are actively looking to strengthen their frontline, targeting both a striker and a winger to bolster their attacking options.

Tottenham Hotspur are targeting the same attacking reinforcements as Arsenal and have made one of those players a top priority. The Lilywhites haven’t just entered the race, they’ve taken the lead by putting forward the most lucrative offer. According to Sky Sport, Tottenham now hold pole position in the pursuit of Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sané, who is set to become a free agent this summer.

Leroy Sane falling out of favor at the Allianz

Sky Sports now reports that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sané on a free transfer. While Arsenal have informed Sané’s agent, Pini Zahavi, of their interest, Zahavi has secured a far more lucrative offer from Spurs.

Following their return to the Champions League, Tottenham are pushing to secure the high-profile signing of the 29-year-old. Sané’s contract with Bayern expires at the end of this month, and after registering 19 goal contributions in 45 appearances this season, he looks increasingly likely to join Tottenham. The North London club have offered him a deal running until 2029.

Bayern Munich are still battling to retain Leroy Sané and have not given up hope of securing a contract extension. However, as things stand, the winger appears to be edging closer to a move to the Premier League. One major advantage working in Tottenham’s favour is their offer of a guaranteed starting role on the right wing, an assurance that neither Bayern nor Arsenal are likely to provide. That promise of consistent playing time could prove decisive in swaying Sané’s decision.

Leroy Sané could prove to be a hugely valuable addition for Tottenham, not just for his individual quality, but also for his versatility across the front line. Last season at Bayern, the former Manchester City star featured effectively on both flanks, making 20 appearances on the left wing and 25 on the right.

His pace, creativity, and wealth of experience in both the Premier League and the Champions League make him an ideal “off-the-shelf” solution for Spurs, ready to contribute immediately at the highest level.
