Tottenham Hotspur fans are planning a protest against chairman Daniel Levy ahead of the Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Before the game, protesters from fans’ group ‘Change for Tottenham’ are planning a march, with a sit-in protest in the south stand following the full-time whistle. The group have organised the protest to highlight its 'dissatisfaction with the club's current direction in footballing matters'.

It’s not the first time a protest of some sort has taken place, with chants calling for the chairman’s exit prevalent among fans in recent weeks amid the team’s poor form. Spokesperson for the group Jay Coughlan has explained the feeling behind the protests with a message to Levy. “You [Levy] are killing a once great football club to improve your own financial wellbeing,” he told GB News .

“Us fans deserve to have a voice, we seem to have sat back and let the club slowly lose what we are about.”

He added in an interview with The Sun: “It’s by far the most vigilant fans have been on the way the club acts. If you look at 2019, we were battling to win a Champions League final, fast forward five years and realistically we’re in a relegation fight.”

Ahead of the game against United, Spurs sit in 15th place in the Premier League table, having picked up 27 points from their 24 games so far this season. They are 10 points ahead of both Ipswich Town in 18th and Leicester City in 19th position.

In their latest financial results, Spurs posted a revenue of £615 million. The summer transfer window saw the club’s net spend at £77.4 million, more than half of the £153.5 million net spend of Brighton and Hove Albion.
