Tottenham have intensified talks with Manchester City for the signing of Savinho.
Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Manchester City winger Savinho appears to be gathering pace.
Spurs have revived their interest in the Brazilian international after their failed attempts to land him last summer. This came after it was revealed that Savinho himself is open to a move to Spurs and that both clubs have started talks.
The 22-year-old endured a frustrating 2025/26 season, blighted by injury problems and lack of minutes. He fell down the pecking order at Manchester City following Antoine Semenyo’s arrival from Bournemouth in the January transfer window. Once he recovered from his injury, Savinho found it difficult to get into Pep Guardiola’s starting XI.
Now with Guardiola having departed after 10 glorious years at the Etihad Stadium, the young winger is expected to follow suit and kickstart his career, apparently in North London.
Savinho’s expected salary at Tottenham revealed
Tottenham appear confident of securing a deal for Savinho, who missed out on a spot in the Brazil squad for the upcoming World Cup. Xavi Simons has also thrown a big hint that Savinho is on his way to White Hart Lane by sharing a picture of him and the Man City winger during their PSV Eindhoven days in the Eredivisie.
As talks continue between Spurs and Man City, reputable Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has revealed on X that Savinho is set to be on a contract worth £120k-£140k per week.
If we are to go by O’Keefe’s information, Spurs fans should be more than happy. Cristian Romero and Xavi Simons are the club’s highest-paid players, earning £195,000 per week each. They are followed by midfielders James Maddison and Conor Gallagher. Savinho potentially agreeing a contract worth £120k-£140k per week would make him the North London club’s joint-sixth highest earner, alongside Dominic Solanke.
Fans must be anticipating Tottenham working on their first formal bid after being in talks with City for a week. Savinho has seemingly given the green light to the Spurs officials to negotiate a fee with the Sky Blues by agreeing to the club’s contract offer. At 22, Roberto De Zerbi will be getting a talented player with a high ceiling, but without our club disrupting the wage structure. The South American trickster has several areas to work upon, and De Zerbi will be confident of getting the best out of him.
Savinho arrived at City from Girona two years ago with a lot of expectations, but things never really clicked. As a result, the Cityzens have become increasingly open to a sale as they prepare for a summer rebuild under incoming new boss Enzo Maresca. So, it is up to our bosses to now get the winger at a reasonable price.
