Thomas Frank looks set to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur and transfer planning for next season will be well underway in North London.
Frank has held talks with Tottenham following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, which came despite the fact that the Australian helped to end their 17-year wait for silverware.
The Danish coach is now expected to take his place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he will be helping the club gear up for Champions League football next term.
One player whom Tottenham and Frank may look at is someone who has been on both their radars previously, with the latter having attempted to bring him to Brentford.
Tottenham and Thomas Frank could target Antonio Nusa
Antonio Nusa has previously been a transfer target for both Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur, and with Thomas Frank set for the Spurs job, the latter should reignite their interest.
Back in January 2023, Tottenham tried to sign Nusa; however, the forward opted against a move to North London and instead agreed to join Brentford.
Brentford agreed a £25m deal for Nusa, and the youngster looked destined to make the switch to play under Frank at the Gtech Community Stadium.
But the deal fell through as Nusa failed his Brentford medical and instead remained at Club Brugge until last summer.
Eventually, Nusa signed for RB Leipzig and has shown flashes of why both clubs wanted to bring him to the Premier League.
The 20-year-old managed five goals and eight assists in 40 matches for the Bundesliga club, and he is a player whom the Lilywhites should be looking at once again.
Leipzig have just missed out on European football for next season and that could be a chance for some of their top players to become attainable.
Tottenham should also target Xavi Simons
Nusa is not the only Leipzig player Spurs should be looking at, with Xavi Simons another attacker who would add so much to Frank’s team.
Simons enjoyed a great season in Germany as he netted 11 goals and got eight assists in 33 matches for the Bundesliga club.
The 22-year-old matched the goal tally of Son Heung-min and was only outscored by Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson last season.
