Tottenham Hotspur have turned to Thomas Frank as their new manager this summer. The former Brentford man was picked as their replacement for Ange Postecoglou. He will be eager to show what he can do at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs finished down in 17th place in the Premier League table. Nevertheless, they were able to win the Europa League after beating Manchester United in the final. The London outfit have the chance to sign some more players this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur eye Harvey Elliott deal

Spurs are interested in Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott and will open talks with the player’s agent. That’s according to transfer expert Mick Brown, who has has told Football Insider: “There’s no shortage of interest in Harvey Elliott. Newcastle and Tottenham are the latest names I’ve heard, both of them are going to test the waters and see what it would take to bring him in. They’ll speak to his agent and find out what he’s asking for and what Liverpool are going to want.

“Then he’s got the likes of Brighton and a few clubs in Germany having a look at him too. I think he could be an asset to any of those clubs because he’s a very talented player.”

Elliott, 22, started his career at Fulham and played three times for their first-team as a youngster. Liverpool swooped to sign him in 2019 and he has since made 147 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals. His long-term future on Merseyside is up in the air though.

He has won the league title and Carabao Cup since his move to the North West. The attacker has also been loaned out in the past to Blackburn Rovers to get some game time under his belt. His contract expires in June 2027 meaning he still has another couple of years left to run down and his current club are under no pressure to sell.

Spurs could see him as someone to boost their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. In addition, he is still young and has potential to get better down the line.

‘Quality’ Harvey Elliott’s future at Liverpool questioned

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has recently questioned whether Elliott can break into Liverpool’s starting XI fully. He has a lot of competition for places at Anfield from his teammates. Warnock has said: "There's a lot of speculation about 'will he be at Liverpool next year?

“That's not easy. There will be phone calls with his agent. It's very much a rollercoaster as the tournament goes on. Because of the amount of games he has played for Liverpool, and the impact he had coming in, I think we all thought he would catapult and play for a long time in the first team.

"But he has a World Cup winner in Alexis Mac Allister in front of him, Ryan Gravenberch had an unbelievable season and Dominik Szoboszlai was brought in for big money. He has got great quality - but you just feel you want him to do it more consistently."
