Highly-rated Tottenham talent wanted by Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur edged Everton 1-0 on the final day of the season to preserve their top-flight status. Relegation to the Championship would have been nothing short of a disaster for Spurs, but the club can now start planning for another season of Premier League football.

Well, even securing safety in the Premier League has not stopped their players from being linked with an exit. Luka Vuskovic is due to return to Spurs next month after an impressive loan spell with SV Hamburger in Germany. Following a strong campaign at the Volksparkstadion, he earned a place in the Bundesliga’s Team of the Season, whilst cementing his status among Europe’s brightest young centre-backs.

The teenage prodigy has been picked by the Croatia squad for the upcoming World Cup. This selection marks his first major tournament at the international level. Luka Vuskovic, who is Tottenham’s second-most-valuable player, has been linked with some of Europe’s most elite clubs.

The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are already looking to push for the Croatian talent’s signature. Now, there is a new entrant in the race to sign the Tottenham defender.

Manchester United eye move for Luka Vuskovic

According to a report from SportsBoom, Manchester United are considering a move for Luka Vuskovic as they prepare for Champions League football. Spurs value the 19-year-old in the region of £60 million, with a host of clubs keen on the central defender.

Manchester United finished third in the Premier League under Michael Carrick, who has been given the full-time role after initially arriving as an interim manager. Carrick has guided the club back to the biggest stage of European football, and INEOS will be looking to back him strongly in the transfer market. The Red Devils will need reinforcements in different areas of the pitch as they look to build a bigger squad capable of dealing with the extra Champions League fixtures.

Vuskovic has emerged on the radar of Man United, but with interest in the youngster from around the continent, Tottenham would rather sell him abroad than to one of their Premier League rivals. Despite the difference between the two clubs, Spurs will be looking to push for a top-half finish under De Zerbi and potentially European spots next term.

As such, the North Londoners will likely consider United a rival in doing so, so they might not agree to selling one of their highly-regarded young talents to them. Now that Spurs will continue playing in the Premier League, we must do everything possible to keep hold of Vuskovic and integrate him into the first-team squad next season.
