Tottenham Hotspur keen on Roma defender Evan Ndicka
Spurs’ chances of landing Ndicka this summer will depend on what league they are in. If they slip into the Championship, they will drastically have to change their recruitment plans for the next transfer window. They are back in action after the international break with an away trip to Sunderland.
Ndicka, 26, rose up through the academy at Auxerre and broke into their first-team as a youngster. The centre-back switched to Germany in 2018 and spent five years with Eintracht Frankfurt. He went on to make 183 appearances in all competitions during his time in the Bundesliga, many of which came under the guidance of Oliver Glasner.
The Paris-born man then linked up with Roma in 2023. He has since played 196 matches for the Serie A giants and has chipped in with six goals from the back, five of which have come this term. However, his long-term future is up in the air right now reported attention from elsewhere.
Speaking after their defeat to Nottingham Forest, Spurs assistant Bruno Salter said: "Every mistake right now is going against us, every detail is going against us and it affects the players as well. You can see how much they are fighting. We are in a difficult situation, everyone knows. In the first half we were the better team and need to be consistent with that."
He added: "It hurts us, it is painful, really painful, but the fans were outstanding today - from before the game until the end of the game. We need to carry on because we care, we care for Spurs, we are family and want to get out of this situation. I am 100% sure we can get through this situation."
