Tottenham transfer to be discussed 'in coming hours'

Whilst the more exciting transfer stories for Tottenham Hotspur fans may currently be related to potential incomings, the club still needs to secure multiple exits.

Not everyone at Spurs is in Thomas Frank’s plans, and Bryan Gil appears to be in that boat. The 24-year-old has struggled to truly convince a series of Tottenham managers since joining in 2021, and has found himself loaned out to Valencia, Sevilla and Girona.

Those loans tend to go in mixed ways, with Bryan Gil impressing when he’s fully fit and in top form, before usually fading away after picking up some knocks, losing the manager’s favour, and seeing his game dilute a little.

With a contract expiring in 2026, both the Spaniard and Tottenham need to find a solution, and that hasn’t been helped by the player’s latest injury setback. He suffered knee ligament damager in March and hasn’t played since.

Recent reports in Italy have stated Fabio Paratici, who apparently continues to help Spurs, met up with Bologna’s director of football at a friendly and pitched the idea of the Serie A club signing Bryan Gil.

A Bologna official was subsequently invited to Tottenham’s training centre to watch over the winger. Sunday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport explains a scouting report was made and is still being discussed internally at Bologna.

Indeed, it’s claimed discussions will be held ‘in the coming hours’, largely around whether Bryan Gil is medically fit.
