Tottenham and Everton are in a straight fight to sign Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to reports in Turkey.

Everton have had a bid of around £30m rejected for the 26-year-old winger. Now, per Fanatik, both clubs have made verbal offers of £35m. The report adds that 'significant developments' could occur in the next 10 days.

Tottenham are interested in signing Crystal Palace's Jean-Philippe Mateta, according to former Spurs scout Mick Brown.

Brown reckons the Lilywhites see the France striker as an upgrade on Dominic Solanke. He told Football Insider: "Tottenham have been wanting to sign a striker this summer.

"I think it's clear at this point that they're not entirely happy when you look at their current options. Are Dominic Solanke and Richarlison enough? They don't think so.

The Eagles may have a decision to make as Mateta has just a year remaining on his contract.

Alan Hutton believes Liverpool will soon regret letting Andy Robertson join Tottenham Hotspur.

The Lilywhites signed the 32-year-old defender on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Anfield earlier this summer, making him the very first addition of the Roberto De Zerbi era.

Since joining the Spurs squad for the pre-season tour Down Under, Robertson has featured in four of the six friendlies, missing just the opening clash against Auckland in New Zealand and the behind-closed-doors match against Hoffenheim at Hotspur Way.

Harry Kane says the "itch" to return to England "isn't there as much".

In an interview with FourFourTwo, Kane said: "When I first left [Spurs in 2023], for sure it was something that I thought I'd definitely be coming back. That itch isn't there as much anymore.

"I'm extremely happy here in Munich. It's opened my eyes to a totally different world of football outside of England. It's made me appreciate European football even more. With the team we have here, with the manager.

"My family are really settled here. It's just about being in the best place possible. I never say never but, for now, I'm concentrating on Bayern Munich, and we'll see what the future holds."

Kane is about to hold talks with Bayern after entering the final year of his contract. He is widely expected to sign a new deal.

Chelsea may have put off potential suitors for Pedro Neto by jacking up their valuation.

Having initially wanted around £70m, they are now demanding as much as £100m. The shift has been influenced by Yan Diomande's £125m move to Real Madrid and PSG slapping a £145m price tag on Liverpool target Bradley Barcola.

Apparently, there was a feeling at Stamford Bridge that they had undervalued the winger. Spurs are among the clubs credited with an interest in Neto.
