The North London Derby is always one of the most anticipated fixtures in the Premier League calendar. And the first one of the new 2024/25 season is upon us.

Tottenham play host to fierce rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, with both teams in need of the points, even at this early stage of the season. Arsenal have taken all three points away with them from their last two visits to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Spurs will be looking to stop the rot this time around.

Spurs go into the game with just four points from their opening three matches, although you could argue they should have maximum points, having dominated the first half against Leicester, only to draw 1-1, and dominating for large periods away at Newcastle but losing 2-1.

Arsenal have seven points from three matches and might well have had all nine had Declan Rice not been shown the first red card of his career against Brighton before the international break. He will miss the clash in N17, as will Martin Odegaard through injury.

So what can we expect from the big match in north London this weekend? Former Arsenal players Jermaine Pennant and Robert Pires are feeling confident.

Speaking to BonusCodeBets, Pennant said: "Doesn’t matter who’s in great form when it comes to these massive games that no one wants to lose. Form goes out of the window. They’re always tight at some point in the game but I expect Arsenal to win this game based on what I’ve seen.

“Spurs have been good so far and play an attractive brand of football. They should have won most of the games they’ve played this season but that’s Spurs for you. So I do expect Arsenal to win this game but you can never be sure playing at their ground."
