football.london is live from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Spurs' Carabao Cup second round clash against Charlton Athletic
Tottenham are in Carabao Cup action as they welcome Charlton to N17 on Wednesday night looking to move on from Saturday's mess at Brentford.
Roberto De Zerbi was unimpressed with his Spurs stars' performance in the 3-0 defeat at the Gtech Community Stadium while admitting that they were undercooked after a mixed pre-season. Now the club's second round cup clash brings the test of in-form Championship side Charlton, who have kicked off their campaign with two wins, including one at West Ham.
Tottenham have new £85million signing Savio available to make his debut if fit enough after his registration with the Premier League and FA was confirmed. The club are also putting the finishing touches on a loan move for the Brazilian's former City team-mate Omar Marmoush with an obligation to buy the Egyptian for £50million plus another £10million in add-ons.

Solanke scores!
Dominic Solanke scores! Spurs have grabbed control of this game. The striker finishes clinically as a loose ball drops to him near the penalty spot. 2-0.
Moore scores!
What a goal for Mikey Moore! The 19-year-old cuts inside and smashes an absolute belter of a left-footed effort that is just too fast for the keeper to react to.
Better
Good little moment for Spurs with Udogie and Tel getting into the box before Fernandes sends a strike at the keeper from the edge of the box.
Chance
Almost a goal for Archie Gray as he prods an effort that Brooks does well to scramble across and tip around the right-hand post.
Save
Flying save from Kinsky to push away Docherty's shot from distance and Asiimwe heads just wide after the subsequent corner.
Booking
Poor challenge from Bergvall outside the Spurs box earns him a yellow card just 24 minutes into the game.
Two early subs
Looks like a bad injury for Charlton's Collins Sichenje, who is stretchered off after twisting his knee twice, and Billy Koumetio also comes off so the visitors make two early changes with Jones and McNamara coming on.
Good run
A tackle by Archie Gray sets away Mikey Moore but he tries to play a pass rather than having a shot on the edge of the Charlton box.
Midfield shape
Mateus Fernandes is further up the pitch with Bergvall and Bentancur behind.

'That's a big jump'
Alan Hutton is not as confident on how well Tottenham will do this season.
Speaking to Boyle Sports, the former Spurs boss said:
I think top four is a big ask for Tottenham Hotspur this season. I know they’ve been through a transitional period with different managers, different personnel, and it’s been difficult, but to finish 17th two years in a row and go from there to top four, even though they’ve spent a lot of money, and spent it wisely, that’s a big jump in one season. Spurs have needed something like this, a bit of a reckoning, to get back to being the sort of club they should be, and I think if they were to finish sixth or around there this season, that would go down as a successful season in my book. It might not keep the fans happy as I’m sure they expect more with the business they’ve done but that’s how I look at it. After the last couple of years, a top six finish would be a good result, but they have spent well, and I think in Roberto Di Zerbi they have a top manager who can get the best out of the players, so I wouldn’t be surprised is they exceeded my expectations to finish top five or top four. For me, I think sixth or seventh is a good guess for where they will finish this season.
'It's on the team to deliver'
Louis Saha believes summer signing Sandro Tonali, who has been given the night off tonight, will help Tottenham improve this season.
Speaking to Mr Gamble, Saha said:
It will be tough for Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the top four but they have signed some terrific players so it will be interesting to see if they can get there. The fans have been asking for this transfer window for many many years. Now it’s on the team to deliver. There will be no excuses. They should feel that pressure now. I don’t think we are going to see the same Tottenham who finished 17th. I’ve already seen the aggression that Sandro Tonali will bring. He is not going to accept the things we saw in the last two seasons.
