Tottenham will hope to build some positive momentum as they host Premier League strugglers Wolves on Saturday night.

Thomas Frank’s side came from behind to earn a point away at Brighton last weekend, but got back to winning ways in midweek by knocking Doncaster Rovers out of the Carabao Cup.

That result - which has set up a fourth round meeting with holders Newcastle - continued Tottenham’s impressive start to the season under new head coach Thomas Frank.

On the other hand, it has been quite a bizarre start to the campaign for Wolves. Also into the Carabao Cup fourth round following a win over Everton, but yet to pick up a single point in the Premier League thus far.

Bottom of the table after suffering five straight defeats, Vitor Pereira will need a big performance from his players if they’re to have any chance of moving out of the relegation zone this weekend.

Tottenham vs Wolves team news

Thomas Frank is expected to recall a number of first team players for the visit of Wolves. Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Mohammed Kudus should all return after being rested against Doncaster.

There is a decision to make in the full-back positions with Destiny Udogie fit again. Brennan Johnson’s goal could earn him a start on the flanks as Lucas Bergvall and Xavi Simons operate centrally.

Richarlison is likely to lead the line with Mathys Tel failing to impress in midweek as the lone striker. Dominic Solanke remains injured, as does Randal Kolo Muani.

Summer signing Kota Takai could be in contention for the first time this season.

Wolves were handed a major boost last week with Jorgen Strand Larsen returning from injury against Leeds. He should get the nod over Tolu Arokodare in attack despite the Nigeria international scoring against Everton.

That said, midfielder Andre is set to miss out with a calf problem.

Tottenham vs Wolves prediction

While Wolves have beaten Premier League opposition in the Carabao Cup this season, they can’t buy a win in the Premier League itself.

Spurs will be kicking themselves if they drop points against the bottom team in the division, but we don’t expect that to happen as another routine home win is on the cards.

Tottenham to win, 3-0.
